I suspect your suggestion is already covered by these existing proposals.
By default Plex won’t record episodes that’s already in the library if there’s no jump in quality (like SD to HD).
In cases where there’s conflicting information from the EPG and TheTVDB, or when the EPG is wrong about the episode numbering, this leads to episodes not being recorded because Plex thinks it’s already in the library. They won’t even show in the schedule.
Recordings are being skipped and lost due to this.
In addition, episodes that are already recorded will in some circumstances …
Loving the DVR so far. One missing feature is the ability to delete a recording with the option to re-record the show. This is helpful when the show listing was incorrect (causing the wrong show to be recorded) or there was an issue with the recording (it is a beta recording solution).
If so, I suggest you comment/vote in the applicable thread in order to avoid distracting/dispersing votes (and in consequence closing this thread as a duplicate).
