Ok Plex Team I have been through the forum a few times trying to see if there is a way to mass edit Tags/Metadata of Movies, Shows, etc? I saw where once there was a Plexeditor but that is gone. Are there any known tools to mass edit the information tags that are produced? Say I have 50 Collections but I want to add on the end of each collection name “Movie Collection” so movies like RED & RED2 would be under RED as a collection given by TMDB. I want to rename it RED Movie Collection and all others like this… Any good suggestions? I seen a lot about hacking the database but I think that is a little dangerous.
You can mass edit tags on multiple movies at once, but I’m not aware of anything that can mass “append” to various tags at once.
So how do you mass edit the tags? I can just rename them all.
Well since you are having the collection tag be added automactially i would just edit the collection names themselves. because a collection won’t be deleted if you remove and add another tag which is basically what you would be doing. not editing the existing.
anyway for general mass editing. On the top left of movie poster there is a selection circle. ( you can shift click to select many in a row) then click the edit button on top right. Fields that have “MIXED” in them mean they are different for each item and you will be overwriting all of them
