MasterClass metadata

I originally asked what type of library which I did not see an answer to. My first attempt failed so on the second I created one with movies which was also crazy.

Based on what I read above I created a new library using TV and set the TVDB as the agent. Looks like it worked out and everything sorted. Sometimes it’s the simple question that needs the simple answer and in this case it was indeed a simple answer to create a TV library using the TVDB as the agent. Appreciate the help and if anyone else has this come up, sometimes it’s just that easy regardless of the 3 days you spent sorting hundreds of episodes because you created the wrong library.

The renaming software is a nice little addition - thanks for that. I wish they had one for audiiobooks.

It would probably be a little easier to parse the containers metadata for the title names and use that instead of jumping through confusing hoops and file system restrictions for special characters. Why doesnt Plex resort to the containers metadata first before looking at the file name the freeform metadata title is a lot more forgiving than filesystems.

Organization of said files would be much easier as well as names wouldnt repeat

StarWars
-----> Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi.mkx

If Ive created a top level Star Wars folder anything in that folder can be assumed to be a part of that series/collection and even though “Rogue One a Star Wars Story” is a part of the series it can still be put in that folder and found wtih ease if the title metadata was updated with the IMDB tile or whatever service lookup is being used.

I also wouldnt have to worry about escaping or putting the file name in quotes if I am on the command line or writing scripts to process library files in bulk.

Never heard of subzero other than MK.

There’s specific instructions on how to add it to Plex in the forums and it used to be one of the existing options listed under the plugins. Short story, it will grab subs for you from 6+ different websites including open subs, addicted, etc and put them in the subdirectories with you shows.
