Metadata Issues - Two series won't match & I've tried everything... or have I?

I’m having issues getting Plex to download metadata for two series, namely Masterclass and Glastonbury. I have had other Plex libraries in the past where Plex has matched and downloaded metadata for these shows successfully, however it has always been temperamental. I have followed the standard (correct) naming procedures eg: Masterclass (2003) > Season 1 > S1E1 Episode Title.mkv

I have tried a different approach to get the two to match correctly by forcing Plex to use tvdb instead of the newer metadata manager eg: Masterclass (2003) - {tvdb-362158} > Season 1 etc… which has worked in the past, however this is no longer working. I’d be very grateful of any other tips or ideas to try and get these seasons matched as it’s got me stumped.

If so, 2003 is the incorrect year, it should be 2014.

Are you using the Plex TV Series agent? If so the tvdb id in the file should be enough to override the incorrect year (on any other agent this id will do nothing), but I’m not entirely sure as I haven’t tested that myself.

did you try with TMDB?
I’ve used that for lots of show Plex refuse to match using TVDB

Ahh good spot - I’ve renamed both directories with TITLE (Correct Date) {tvbd-ID}.
Just doing the dance and will see what it comes back with..

I guess what is confusing me is that the shows are matched correctly in Plex. So, despite the date being wrong Plex has matched Masterclass to the 2014 series, but it hasn’t loaded the metadata, or at least not all of it:

Thanks for the tip, I’ll give that a try if the rename and dance doesn’t work.

Which Episode ordering are you using? Make sure it’s set to TheTVDB (Aired) for this show (or for the library if you want to use that ordering).
