It would be super-useful if you could search for a match via the IMDB ID. It’s listed as a feature, but it would be great if it was an actual functioning feature and not just a pretend one. Thanks. I called your tech support phone number multiple times regarding this issue but they kept telling me that I had the wrong number and plex doesn’t have technical support and to stop calling them.
This is already possible.

You can also place the IMDb ID in the file name so it matches correctly first time.

This is the naming convention I currently use.
The above replies leave me with the question… how are you trying to match movies by their IMDb ID that you consider the feature isn’t working.
Seems to be working as described in the documentation linked by drzoidberg and Rivers…
