Starting 4/8/2021, new albums added to my music library stopped displaying Plex Music metadata for posters and tags. It appears to match successfully, but no metadata is displayed. I have Plex Music as both the Scanner and Agent and have Album Art set to display Both Plex Music and Local Files. Note: the local album art does display.
There’s a known issue with the music metadata agent in recent server versions
Since what it seems version 1.22.2.xxxx, Music Artists agent does not retrieve several metadata for new artists:
no posters available, though when the artist is first added, a poster is chosen
no genre, mood…
no similar artists
no popular tracks
For instance, I added Bob Sinclar or James Brown, and none of these data appear.
Has anyone had this issue?

Which should be fixed in upcoming version 1.23
afaik this is fixed in an upcoming version 1.23 which I believe is getting released early next week
Just fyi, I found out that 1.23 is not going to get released this week as there are some issues unrelated to the fix for the music metadata issue that need to get addressed. I’m hoping next week but will let y’all know if things change.
If you are able to install an older version, it appears version 1.22.1.4228 should do the job
Okay, all. For what it’s worth, I uninstalled the latest version of PMS and found v1.22.1.4228. After reinstalling this and refreshing music library metadata, Mood, Styles, and Genres are getting repopulated.
I forgot to take a lesson from the world of I.T.: NEVER auto-update. Download the updates, store them, and wait a week or two until you’re sure you don’t hear any screaming. @BigWheel !
