Media Agents overwriting tagging

What is the best way to stop Plex from inserting/deciding what movie is what? I painstakingly tag my movies only to have the Plex Movie Agent (I believe) overwrite them, double movies up, and generally mess up my library. For instance, I just move my 5100 movies to a new server… I had 5 legal pages, single spaced of duplicate files. Mistakes such as thinking “Bite the Bullet” and “Wag the Dog” were the same movie. Not sure how different these two movies could be, how it thought they were the same is beyond me.

  1. Name and organize them as Plex expects them https://support.plex.tv/articles/categories/your-media/naming-your-movie-media-files/
  2. Enable Prefer local metadata to prefer embedded tags if they are mp4s ( it is the only video file type embedded tags are read)
