Media library scan will not complete / New media not detected

For certain libraries, scanning for new items does not complete, and as a result they are not detected. For other libraries new media is detected just fine. All libraries are resident on the same drive, and this issue was introduced through an update to the Plex docker. For a while I could force the version number to fix the problem, but eventually this trick resulted in an outdated server so I’d like to solve the problem. Docker is official version. I cleared the logs, started the server, ran a scan, and attached the resultant new logs below.

It’s worth noting you do actually see the “missing media” in the scanner log file but since the scan doesn’t complete, apparently it never gets added.

Whenever this happens it me it’s because the Plex database has gotten corrupted. There are procedures to try and repair the database but they have never reliably worked for me. Your best bet is to shut down Plex and then restore an older version of the database.

Edit:

Sorted it. Scanner was silently failing on certain files. Put some debug statements into the .py file and sorted it out pretty fast.
