Where has Newsmax gone? I hope it was not removed, as I chose a Plex based NAS media platform because Plex had Newsmax as well as other news media that leans to both sides of the isle, and did not seem to be censoring content availability based on politics. I hope I’m wrong, otherwise I’ll be turning to platforms that allow me freedon to choose my own news and make educated decisions
I never use the news functions in anything like this just because of this reason. It all leans one way, and we know which way that is. I just enabled news as a source and looked at the available channels. There is no Newsmax there. Having not used it before, I wasn’t aware it was an option.
It’s not there right now though…
Thanks for checking. I guess it was removed. It was there up until a couple of days ago(unsure exact). I guess Plex was just behind and the curve, and has now drawn a line and chosen censorship.

If it’s any consolation… using Plex keeps us from going to the movies and supporting those who don’t like Newsmax. LOL

When time permits, I think I’m going to build a trial server for that. Plex doesn’t need my money if they’re picking a side. I pay them to manage the media, not the message.

I’m in the U.S. and I have Newsmax TV as an option still. What player are you using? I’m wondering if it isn’t a player-specific issue.

It’s not listed under “News” where the other propaganda feeds are. But it IS in the Live TV stream.
I’m in the US and Newsmax appears as a Free Live TV channel. I see 132 channels total. The count is listed in Plex Web. Do others see fewer?
It’s working in Plex Web and Plex.app and the iPhone, Apple TV, and Roku apps. I haven’t checked others.
Mine are old accounts. I haven’t checked a newly created account.
Neither a NAS or Plex Media Server are required for access to the Plex Free Live TV content.
Does Jellyfin now provide Free Live TV content?
Plex’s Free Live TV is also available to users who don’t pay.

It’s still listed on NewsmaxTV.com as being available on Plex. Other apps and services are listed too.

“Based on politics.” LOL. No babe. It’s based on a “news” channel that was/is promoting outright lies and propaganda in order to try to overthrow the goverment. There’s a huge difference.

Endlessly repeating the free speech vs censorship argument will not be of service to members of this forum and I will not be drawn into it.
What I said was a simple statement of fact. There is no contending it. People need to be aware of it.
Specifically: there is a faction of Plex users trying to promote content based censorship. That’s a fact. Plex users need to be aware of that for many good reasons so they can decide for themselves what that may mean for them and their own choices regarding the Plex product line.
Update; It’s possible that it may have been me looking in the wrong place, as others have mentioned above, it is still in the live tv. My bad, I may have been assuming I found it in news, rather than live
