My media server is exactly that- MY media server. It should function untethered to external services. External content is better supplied via other channels directly thru my media players.****
Plex are making it harder and harder to defend and like their product… The community isn’t in a rush to view news via Plex. If people running Plex want to consume news they’ll opt for a news service or will read things online like a normal person (reddit for example).
Who wants to watch a news presenter behind a desk deliver opinions in a bias manner when you can opt to read sources and multiple articles and form a more coherent picture? Sure it might be okay for breaking news but who’s going to rush to Plex? Why not just go straight to the source and get your information quicker?
Plex is still more of a ‘power user’ program than a product for your ‘average’ consumer and yet we’re being treated like morons.
Why do we not have Audio Book support? Why do we not have e-Book support yet? There’s a million other features constantly being requested and yet they’re ignored for ■■■■ we don’t ask for…
The Plex team is the best marketing team Emby could have ever asked for.
Please have the option for disabling the news function, I don’t under stand, you set up the server the way you want, then it adds a channel you have no desire for. Regret get a plex pass now

If this feature is to raise funds, why not make disabling it an option for plex pass members, the same way some forum sites, apps, etc hide ads for paying subscribers?
Already stated that in the ‘public’ forum, but I didn’t ask for this ‘feature’, see no interest in it, and don’t want it to pollute my plex player.
Don’t want this news feature, make an option to remove it. It’s not something I want or will ever use in plex
Same for me. Using Plex to organize my local content, not to connect other content I didn’t ask for.

Thats great and everything but I would ask the Plex team the following:
Why are they replying on reddit and not on their own support forums?
Why did they release a ‘feature’ (i use that term very loosely) that they clearly know not everyone would want, without the ability to turn it off?
Please let us disable the news feed. I don’t follow any news feeds, I’m not about to start, and it just adds clutter to my screen. Thank you.
