How do I block Newsmax?

I would rather not have Q Anon propaganda available in my home. How do I block it or do I need to migrate to a new platform?

Please leave out your opinion of Newsmax or Q-Anon as they are not relevant to the question. Thank you for your help.

You are able to avoid any content you wish in your home by not clicking on it.

To the best of my knowledge you can’t block an individual source if that’s your question.

You can however completely disable the online content from plex in your account settings if that’s helpful or what you want.

yeah, I think the only solution is to turn off the streaming content. Currently there isn’t a way to customize that stream.

One option, assuming Plex don’t aggregate all the online sources and deliver it via their own CDN (content delivery network), you could block newsmax.com (and hope that forms part of the URL for their stream) using OpenDNS. You would then have to make sure your router is using OpenDNS and you keep your IP address updated on your OpenDNS account. It sounds really technical but it’s quite easy. If and this is a big if as it’s likely Plex will just be using an IP address rather than a domain name, if it is using an IP address you would need to find out what these are. This however carries a risk that newsmax use a third party CDN and you could end up blocking other services including Plex itself so tread carefully.
That said, I have blocked lots of domains for similar news outlets on our home network, think The Times of London (although in the UK we just call it The Times), The Daily Mail, The Sun, The Telegraph etc. It means if anyone tries to access their sites on our wifi they just get told it’s blocked. Sorry for the rambling answer, I hope it’s helped.

Get a firewall and block the IPs. Works great, we no longer get any propaganda from CNN, ABC, CBS, MSN, etc. on any devices in our home.

Looks like putting newsmax-plex.amagi.tv into my router URL block filter did it for me.
