Forgive me If this has already been suggested, I looked and didn’t see it.
I think that Media Optimizer would be improved by adding in File retention settings. The Issue is when I import a high resolution copy of a series, Media Optimization will do its thing making a copy of the first 5 unplayed episodes so that they might be streamed externally. However, if someone in the home watches the episode this will trigger Plex to delete the optimized version before any external party can make use of that version.
I think It would be good to add the “Keep Last X Number of episodes” feature we find on the DVR when configuring recordings, this way you could configure a rolling optimization.
