Option to REPLACE file after optimization please. I optimize to shrink my file size and to facilitate smooth streaming outside my network. My smaller file sizes are perfectly acceptable quality for big screen, in-home viewing as well. I am happy with the image quality. Sidebar: for blockbuster movies, I don’t optimize at all and only view them on my big screen in-home. But TV shows specifically I ALWAYS delete the original file to maximize storage space. This can be a cumbersome process. Allowing PLEX to REPLACE the original file on its own, immediately after optimization would be ideal.
Thanks for your suggestion. There’s already an existing suggestion thread such a feature. Please comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes. Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.
