Media playback hangs on web player. No problem playiing on other platforms

Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488, FreeNAS
Player Version#: 3.77.4

Recently the recent update gave me so much trouble that I had to re-install plex. It seemed okay then I tried to play any video files, and it just hangs. It does not say it is unable to play files, just hangs indefinitely. This only happens when I use web player.

However it plays normally if I use anything other than web player. For instance I use Windows PC Plex program and it has no problem playing videos.

I looked log file and only thing that grabs me attention is “Transcode runner appears to have died”. I am not even sure why Plex is trying to transcode video files, which was actually DVR files created by Plex server itself (h.264).

I have no clue how to solve this problem. I attached the server log zip file.

Well, I solved this problem by myself. Thanks… for no reply I guess. :open_mouth:

What was the issue ?

It turned out it is FreeNAS.

For some reason it is unable to remove previous configs that caused problems. I realized after seeing FreeNAS complaining about missing connection from UPS despite the fact that I disabled UPS service for checking. CLI or GUI, the only solution was reinstall FreeNAS. Complete free install. There were other issues too.

Good thing I did’t have to touch corrent pool. Just clean iocage, wipe out system drive, reinstall OS, then import the pool and re-install the jail/plugin cleared the issue.

But now, I am seriously considering to move to OMV, right now I encountered another nasty jail bug, which corrupts entire jail due to mounting bug. TBH I am quite sick of it really…
