I’m not sure if this is the right place for this, but I have been running plex for a while now, but last night the icon disappeared from my menu at the top, I then start up plex make sure media server is enabled and I see PMS starting, however as soon as I click on the icon and go to manage the icon disappears, I can go to preferences, but that’s it. Now I can’t use the plex app on the iPad or my samsung tv, nothing has changed in the last couple of days as far as I can tell. Running PMS 0.9.34 on the latest iMac core i5 with 4th ram, and snow leopard, any ideas??

@paulkai
Please try rebooting the iMac; it may simply be that something crashed and you have some partial processes running or something. A reboot’s a simple way to fix stuff if that’s the issue. If you continue having issues even after a reboot, please zip up and attach the “Plex Media Server.log” file (see link in signature) to a reply here.
Hi
Here is the plex log. I tried to reboot but when i try to select the media manager it just quits on me
PaulPlex Media Server.log.zip (3.84 KB)
Try moving the ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins folder to the desktop. Plex may have gotten a bad bundle update somehow. Moving the folder should cause plex to re-download all the plugins it needs.
Thanks for the reply, once I move it to the desktop, do I delete that folder?
Pail
If you only move the Plug-Ins folder to the desktop it is fine to delete it yes. because that folder and its content gets rebuilt and updated automatically.
Did that, and hey presto it’s working again, only thing I can think of was I installed the Danish plug in via channels on the iPad after that, it did not work. Thanks for the tips guys, and for an awesome app, I use PMS with my samsung tv and the plex app, very impressed with the work you and the developers are doing, keep it up,the good work

Still nothing working. I am so confused. It has to be an issue on the machine - anyone have this issue with drobo dashboard, SABnzbd or Sickbeard running? those are the ONLY things left running on this machine, and they are all up to date and clean installs.
Thanks everyone!
Your previous log file you shared definitely shows there might be some sort of issue with your system bundle. The first thing I'd try are [these instructions](http://wiki.plexapp.com/index.php/PlexNine_PMS_TipsTricks#Recovering_broken_System.2FFramework.bundle_files) to update a couple of the core files.
If things still aren't working, have you tried to [completely uninstall](http://wiki.plexapp.com/index.php/PlexNine_PMS_TipsTricks#Completely_Removing_Plex_Client_and_Plex_Media_Server) Plex and then reinstall from scratch?
Another thing that would be interesting to see is the crash reports. If the PMS icon just disappears I assume it crashes. However most likely a silent Unix crash. Go to:
~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/ and find the latest crash report that sees to have something with Plex or PMS to do. Upload it here.
I have done that, and even with a fresh install, it gets stuck on starting. I remove all traces of plex, and it remains the same.
The PMS doesn't crash, it hits the system framework bundle and stops... I have uploaded it previously and I can again, but I am going to do a clean OS install and install plex and then each of my supporting applications I use on the mini and see what happens. I will let you know!
I am assuming that whatever is causing the issue came across in the migration from my old mini, and creating a new user folder doesn't solve the issue. It is truly bizarre! The fact that 0.9.2.7 works but 0.9.3.4 doesn't is also baffling!
hey guys i did follow this instruction of removing the framework file. but my problem still persist. its stuck on the starting mode when you see the white ‘wheel’ turning as locating the file. but it never does.
hope someone can help
cheers
Is this the same PMS install you had a question about in the other thread?
yes it is. i’'m just going to do the recommended actions and will get back to you in few minutes
im using lion and there isnt any library folder in "/Users/(username)/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins"... the only library folder is in macintosh hd/library/application support/plex ... however there is no plex media server.. only plex, with no plugin folder.
i apologise if my questiom is very fundamental but i really want my video plugin to work.
thanks
Apple made the (dumb, IMO) decision to hide the user library by default in Lion. Check this [CNET article](http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20082044-263/os-x-lion-where-did-my-library-go/) for different ways you can access it.
Hi, Just installed the 0.9.3.4 version and Plex Media Server was starting for 12h and still didnt finish the process so I executed all the instructions from this thread and nothing changed.
Here are my logs. Archive.zip (39.1 KB)
Thanks for your help in advance.
Tatsu
That archive doesn't have Plex Media Server.log. Have you tried uninstalling everything and then doing a fresh install as described here? http://wiki.plexapp.com/index.php/PlexNine_PMS_TipsTricks#Completely_Removing_Plex_Client_and_Plex_Media_Server
It helped.
Thank You
Hi, I have the same problem in my macbook pro with Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2… I have tried all the options that I have seen in this forum, but none of them works… It is a clean install of lion and I’m installing plex 0.9.3.4 for the first time in my mac. I have completely uninstalled plex, restarted and tried again, I have only removed the plugins folder, I have done so many things that I don’t know what else to do…
Attached is are the log files…
