Plex does NOT play anything over 48KHz and 16 bit stereo. Why not???

I can play 96 and even 192 sample rates just fine – even in my browser.
you must have a Roku because that’s the only 1 I know that DOES work? I’m using the Nvidia Shield 2017 and 2019.
No, I don’t have one. I am using Plexamp and the web app in Chrome.
A Shield (which is running the ‘Android TV’ Plex client) will AFAIR cause the server to transcode HiRes music down to 48kHz/16 bit OPUS.
I can use MxPlayer through the nvidia shield and get 192/24 so it’s really a Plex problem. And I think that works because it’s NOT Plex but rather a separate app?
