Media Unavailable—HDD Replacement—Media Unavailable!

Server Version#: 1.41.8
Player Version#: Just using Safari 17.6 on macOS 12.7.6 by double-clicking the “Plex Media Server” app in the Applications folder.

I had a direct-attached RAID called “Scooby” and when that failed I eventually (years later) copied the backup to a new external HDD. I changed the new HDD to have the same name and folder structure as the original. The path to movies should be: /Volumes/Scooby/Plex/Movies but when I access PMS via safari by double-clicking the PMS app I can see that the media for all of the movies that I checked show as “Unavailable”. BTW: the RAID failure happened late 2022 or early 2023… I was trying to recover the actual RAID data since so I could verify that everything was in fact represented. Now I’ve given up on the RAID and I’m ready to move forward with this media from the backup. So, what might be the issue here with the media being unavailable?

Okay, everything is working now… the last 12 movies that I added in December of 2022 somehow, only the supporting folder structure and small .srt files were present but the actual media file was not there… So, PMS seems to be working as it was before. Well, not fully tested with Apple TV but it’s working on the server. So, anyway, problem solved.
