Merge two 'offsite' servers

Server Version#: Version 1.13.7.5369

Hello.
I currently run PLEX on a dedicated server, hosted at Hetzner.
I also have another server hosted at Hetzner - Both of these have 6TB of storage.
Can I somehow “merge” these two servers?

What I want is something like this:

‘Server 1’ has PLEX installed and running, having 6TB og storage.
I then want ‘Server 1’ to be able to see the 6TB storage on ‘Server 2’ thus having 12TB storage in total.

Can this be done and if so, how?

Thank you in advance!

You’ll have to ask your hosting company (Hetzner) if it’s possible from one server to access the other, and if so, create a mapped drive/mount of the other servers drive

Okay, so to clarify, PLEX does not support the option to “look” at two different servers without the servers being linked with mapped drives?

A Plex Media Server can only access files, so you need to mount the other servers drive, in order to scan the media’s.

And the PMS/Database from the other server will NOT be used

Okay, thank you for clarifying.

I will see if I can mount the two drives from ‘Server 2’ on ‘Server 1’, so that the PLEX server running on ‘Server 1’ can see these

You’ve touched on an age-old problem in computing which is totally dependent on the capacity/capabilities of the filesystem itself.

Ergo, think more upstream.

Each Plex client supports working with more than one server.
In the older clients, you’ll have to explicitly switch to the other server before you can see the libraries of this server.

In the newer clients, you can switch between a library on one server and one on the other.

To make it simpler, you could restrict one of your servers to just TV shows and the other to movies.
