I’m using the instructions here: Merging two library by editing DB
I have a Movies and a 4K Movies Library, and a TV Shows and a 4K TV Shows library.
When I merge the Movies and 4K Movies library, everything works as expected EXCEPT when I got to the newly merged “Movies” library, everything is duplicated… As in, for each movie where there is a 4K and non-4K version, I get 2 posters/items. I can manually merge the items, but that is tedious and less than ideal.
Have there been changes to the Plex DB that affect how this is accomplished?
Additionally, when reviewing the steps to merge TV shows, how can I do this appropriately when shows have different “parent_directory_ids”?
Another wrinkle, is I have 2 locations for the Movies, 4K Movies, TV Shows, and 4K TV Shows where media is stored.
So,
Movies: Z:\Movies and X:\Movies
4K Movies: Z:\4K Movies and X:\4K Movies
TV Shows: Z:\TV and X:\TV
4K TV Shows: Z:\ 4K TV and X:\4K TV
I do not wish to merge the files into the same root directories, all I want to do is merge the libraries in Plex without needing to redo credit, intro detection, chapter previews, video previews, etc…
