Doctor Who (2005) - S00E150 - Doctor Who Extra The Return of Doctor Mysterio

as you see, naming is correct.

I just added this yesterday:

http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=78804&seasonid=26260&lid=7

A TV Show Library/
…Doctor Who (2005)/
…Season 00/ <— I’ve never used ‘Specials’, but that worked instantly for me
…Doctor Who (2005) - S00E149 - The Return of Dr. Mysterio.xxx <---- that’s the one I added
…Doctor Who (2005) - S00E150 - Doctor Who Extra The Return of Doctor Mysterio.xxx <— I have to assume that’s ok

Fiddling with names and structures while in the library is often highlighted by frustration. Renaming/restructuring is best performed OUTSIDE the library and you’ll want to write a new bundle for the show so The Plex Dance® was invented:

The Plex Dance®:

  1. remove show from library
  2. update library
  3. empty trash
  4. clean bundles
    https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200392106-Library-Actions <— update library, empty trash, clean bundles
  5. bring names and structures into compliance
  6. replace corrected show into library
  7. update library

All Steps. In Order. No Shortcuts.

@JuiceWSA ,
Cool, I’ve always used Specials as the name. How does Plex display that season? Will it display Specials or Season 00?

Oh ya. @PunkleJones ,
Sometimes it takes awhile to download metadata. thetvdb is so hammered on a daily basis I’m surprise any gets downloaded.

I never paid much attention, but since you asked:

@PunkleJones ’ naming looks pretty good to me. Maybe the item was named/renamed/rererenamed a few times without a Plex Dance and that’s all it needs or maybe ‘Specials’ isn’t working as it should. All I know is Season 00 worked for me instantly.

Of course, if you try to match something at TVDB and TVDB, and/or The TVDB Plex Proxy (and who can say how all that really works - not me) is off exploring the Galaxy matches will be less than spectacular. Yea, not much will happen. In my case I use FileBot and FileBot kinda pre-checks the availability of TVDB when it goes there to look up the name. If FileBot finds it I can assume that for the next few minutes, at least, TVDB is working.

Also ensure TVDB is in the top slot under it’s Tab in Shows, as is TMDB and just for kicks, while you’re there move Local Media Assets to the bottom of every list you can lay your hands on - just in case you ever want to use an MP4/M4V file at some point:

Of course Plex Dance after fiddling if your fiddling doesn’t produce any meaningful changes.

@PunkleJones
I was able to download the metadata for that episode. I really believe that thetvdb was bogged down and did not retrieve the info. I’m sure the data will download on a schedule task or if you refresh the show…
