Meta Data not updating for albums

Server Version#: 1.32.5.7349

Using Plex on Windows PC, and as of today (it worked fine yesterday and all days leading up to it) when attempting to match an album, no meta data populates after choosing a match. Even if I go to the MusicBrainz website and copy the album ID and enter it into the Album field under Search Options, the icon that appears when the meta data is being pulled spins around for a fraction of a second and then disappears and the meta data never gets updated.

First I tried re-starting the server and that didn’t work, then turned the computer off and back on again with no luck in doing that either.

Could it be a MusicBrainz issue? Wondering if others are having the same problem or not.

What album is this?

In this example, it was this album:
Jamie Jones - Get Lost 02

However, since today, it’s been occurring with all albums I’ve been trying to match. The icon appears ever so briefly after a match is selected, and then nothing happens.

Sorry should have asked this in the fist post but, you’re using Plex’s suggested folder setup?

Music/ArtistName/AlbumName/TrackNumber - TrackName.ext

I think the matching is working in general (I just matched a few albums).

Do you use MP3tag and or MusicBrainz Picard to verify/change meta data?

I just found Picard not long ago, it would have saved me a lot of time if I found it years ago.

Yeah, all that is set the way it should be. I’ve got over 14,000 albums matched in Plex. It’s just this morning that I’ve started having the issue, and was wondering if perhaps MusicBraiz was having some sort of issue pushing meta data updates through and if anyone else was experiencing something similar. Hopefully it’s something that sorts itself out shortly.

Even on the example album I gave, it’s detecting that it’s a compilation album, but none of the artwork/label info/artist names/release date/Genre or style details is being updated. So it’s pulling some info (albeit very little, but at least it recognizes that it’s not an album but a compilation) but can’t figure out why the rest isn’t being updated as well.

Edit: sorry, just noticed that it did update the information for the label.

If you have a library that large all of my questions were silly then. I’m pretty handy with the simple answers.

One should be able to get a badge saying “I mostly know what I’m talking about, so lets skip the basic stuff.”

Ha! And yeah, I guess I should have covered that when discussing the issue, because naming is more often than not a fix to the issue.
