For all the people having a library generated with ThumbGen here's a way to use the xml-information stored by thumbgen in an .nfo file as Metadata in Plex.
This agent scans for all .nfo files in the same folder as the movie and trying to extract the meta data for it.
Sample ThumbGen MetaData .nfo:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

For questions, bugs, enhancements... I'm sure you'll find me ;)
1. Does the nfo file need to be named a specific way (matching the movie file name or anything will do like movie.nfo for instance)
2. There doesn't seem to be any setting for Collection though with a film like the one you are using as exemple, having it set directly in The Lord of the Rings collection would be handy
3. Are you planning to develop or show us an example (if it already works) on how to add a series and the episodes from that series?
4. I guess all the fields don't have to be filled and that the agent will only take what is registered in the file, Plex doing its work to fill for the rest (like for the part which I think is redundant)
5. The pictures only link to internet, is it possible to link to pictures already in the folder or can we let that part empty and have the local info agent take them?
I installed in on my PC and it's perfect but on my mac, I can't seem to get it to work. I unzip it to the plug in directory and restarted the computer but can't seem to be seeing it in my setting. Is there anything else I should do?
1. It just have to have the .nfo extension. And there should be only one nfo per folder.
2. Collections are not part of ThumbGen Info file afaik and so is not supported. I did group my movies manually in the collection
3. I never used ThumbGen for Shows (TVRename + Plex was enough for my needs) so probably not.
4. I'm not quite sure about this. This depends if Plex uses only one Agent (in this case mine) or can use multiple agents
5. The pics could also link to local resources, you also can configure ThumbGen not to fill this section. My background e.g. are local resources and shown in Plex without nay problems.

@itamarj: Sorry no User Apple here. It should work as well as the Plex Plugin Architecture is relatively robust.
