Metadata always wrong when movie has same name but different year?

Used to be my choice… not anymore…
Other then the fact he’s charging for it I have found it unreliable in what it returns…
Best thing is to name them correctly when you create them.

Yup:

Regarding ‘sweeping’ changes to your media structure:

Me and Filebot just completed putting over 1500 movies into their own unique folder in my Movie Library. I would do blocks of a few hundred at a time (with the server off!) - let Plex eat that for a while (it’ll re-analyse those) - then do some more when time permits. Took about a month, but sure was easier than doing by hand.

A real GOOD reason for single movie folders - is movies in folders that don’t change - are excluded from a Library Scan - and if you don’t think that’s important… you’re wrong. I was, but have seen the error of my ways and with Filebot we fixed it.

And you can take that to the bank

Apparently you don’t ‘create’ as many a day as I do.
Whatever Filebot costs - it’s worth 10X that.

oh maybe not. Subler just does batch metadata and poster

…and there is no reason whatsoever to do that because:

  1. a properly named and structured file will gather all metadata naturally (mostly)
  2. we already had to hack LMA due to bogus embedded metadata that subler either left in, or got wrong
  3. the ONLY file embedded metadata works in is an mp4 file and you recently demoted that Biash so it won’t do what it did when it messed everything up.

…any questions?

The BEST metadata to put in a video file is:
NONE

MacOS has it own naming tool, Right click a group of files to find tool. Unfortunately it does have limitations.

FileBot comes in Mac.
It too has limitations - until you go to the site and find out how to do whatever it is you need. <—like I did just before we got to work on 1500+ Movie Folders. <—actually @filebot and Otto told me how to do it so I didn’t have to go find out.

…just sayin’

Good advice, it just sounded like the OP did not want to part with his money :relaxed:
