Imdb/Plex Movie not matching my Movies with my naming scheme. I always do manual match which is pain in the azz to match newly added movies.
My naming of my movies is like this:
Filename: “fight.club.1999.mkv”
And Plex match and get the title with this: “Fight Club 1999.”
And It wont match anything unless I remove 1999 in the title. I don’t know why I had to that manually in order for the movie to get a match with Imdb/Plex Movies.
Is it okay for Plex Dev to solve this issue? It’s not a complex naming and Plex shouldn’t have problem matching my movie titles with year of release. Thanks in advance.
It’s using the whole name including the year to match against…
The name is Fight Club not Fight Club 1999…
If you put the 1999 in () like Flight Club (1999) it will separate out the year from the title.
It’s good to have the year in there because of all the remakes…

I didn’t know you had to separate the year with (), to the title to get a match, but I think Plex should have that option too without needing () in the year because it’s common renaming too with movie archivers. oh well I’ll update filebot renaming scheme with (year) on filename.
It’s not really bending the axel. It’s not like the renaming scheme I’m asking for is complex. It’s simple. Match the title with year without needing (), but thats my just my two cents. Anyhow, I won’t mind updating my renaming scheme if Plex matching works that way.
