Metadata and artwork not loading for Movies

Gonna throw my hat in as well. No TV Show posters are being pulled. Just added the first three seasons of the Simpsons and none of them pulled the season posters from thetvdb, yikes…
Funnily enough I also added Season 5 of “Grimm” and it didn’t pull the posters either but after a day or so they showed up all of a sudden

I’m pretty sure it’s not on Plex’ end but annoying non-the-less

I just got complete population of:

Life From Above (2019)\
....Season 01\
.......Life From Above (2019) - S01E01 - Moving Planet.mkv
.......and so on

I guess from that we can assume (with caveats) that it’s working some…

Just saw this when searching for posters manually :expressionless:

TVDB matching is not working for me either. Title is matched but nothing else is downloaded, synopsis, artwork etc. I have switched to TMDB for the time being.

It’s been 7 days, I guess this isn’t resolved yet?
Anyone able to fix this? and if so, how?
I’ve tried the suggestion of MadAlex, but that did nothing.

What JuiceWSA said: the TVDB upgraded their API to v3, and now apparently SSL3.0 is has been deprecated on their end. Plex needs to upgrade their tvdb client libraries that use TLS.

So we’ll just need to wait for Plex to address this it sounds like.

Same issue here, with TV only. Movies unaffected. It appears to be populating episode descriptions in most cases but not artwork. It’s also not limited to “new” TV series. Getting the same behavior with any new series I’m adding, whether it’s old or new.

Switching the agent to The Movie Database resolves the issue for folks who don’t want to wait it out.

Has anyone filed a bug report with the Plex team, or received confirmation that they’re aware of the issue and actively working on it?

OP here - looks like latest update to PMS resolves this

I just installed Plex Pass plex media server for Ubuntu 18.04, and I still have this problem. Why has no one from Plex addressed this?

Switching to The Movie DB did NOT fix the problem. I still get the ssl errors. Movies download fine, and TV shows info get downloaded but not pictures.

Same problem here, clear install on my Raspberry PI 4 (plexmediaserver_1.18.2.2041-3d469cb32_armhf.deb):

./com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb.log:2019-11-20 15:57:16,641 (-51985ba0) : INFO (__init__:1073) - <urlopen error [SSL: SSLV3_ALERT_HANDSHAKE_FAILURE] sslv3 alert handshake failure (_ssl.c:590)>

Yeah, the problem is still here… Updated to the latest version, clean reinstall, rebooted, cleared everything and still nothing.

Only TV Shows, Movies are working just fine.

I have this problem too.

Plex 1.18.2.2041 using plex docker image “plexinc/pms-docker:plexpass” sha256:f89a73a7759860b1d74c4873c0b21e6d8193c794f014f79477cef6e850d63453

This thread was created about MOVIES and it has diverged to TV shows despite OP explicitly saying it’s fine for TV Shows. It’s frustrating when you’re having issues with Movie metadata and find a thread with another with the same issue only for no insight.

Same here,
Manually matching gets metadata only with blank images (posters, backgrounds and actors.

Strange - That version was the fix for me on Windows Server. What are you running PMS on?

I’m on the most recent, it has been happening to me for a couple versions now

Problem solved on last update

New here, and I am running through so many threads where others like me on PMS for Windows are not getting poster data for movies, nor for TV shows/seasons/episodes.
I seem to have the problem remaining on both Movies as well as TV. I expect more patience with TheTVDB is the only action on the shows issue, but why can’t I get posters and up-to-date metadata for movies either?
