I have found that Metadata and artwork are not loading for Movies, they work fine on (existing) TV shows, I havnt tried new TV series.

I’ve got the same issue with new TV Series. Haven’t tried new movies yet. Yesterday it was still working.
Server Version 1.18.1.1973 on QNAP. Player Version 3.104.2.
I can confirm the same issue with an anime tv show. Every file was named by hand in line with ttvdb, I have 100 shows, I know how to name them. I removed the show from library did plex dance, still no metadata.
the show shows up in library, with the episodes and seasons, just no metadata.
I’m on a mac btw. Version 1.18.1.1973

Hi !
Exactly the same problem for me, on two different configs, one docker and one non-docker. I guess there must be something wrong at the plex metadata severs level.
I’m having a similar problem for TV shows. No artwork being downloaded. Have wasted 3 hours of my Sunday trying every toggle in the server to get it up again, uninstalling, re-installing (twice). Will have to wait and see if it gets over itself.
Same issue here, then i guess its not my new-installation that is at fault.
Glad it is not just me/my older version of Plex. I am seeing the same errors in the log, but running an older version of Plex (1.16) on FreeBSD.
Will watch this thread, hopefully we see a resolution soon.
Same issue here, even after manually replacing builtin openssl 1.0.2p with 1.0.2q.
Also updating to plexmediaserver beta branch version 1.18.2.2015 did not help.
i also updated the buildin cacert bundle without any effect 
Same issue here - movie posters are still loading, but ix-nay on the elevision-tay posters. Any other ideas?

Unclear when it will be resolved from what I can glean from the forums over there.
Does the Plex Movie agent use TMDB or TVDB?
Neither - it used IMDB and ONLY Movies - no documentaries, TV Movies, etc.
Ah! Gotcha so the issue is affecting TV Shows only? (OP mentioned the other way around)
This thread is dealing with Movies. Not sure what’s going on there, they’ve been working OK for me through TMDB - I do not use Plex Movie (I deal with a lot of Docs).
TVDB has been on a week long bender and is ‘intermittent’ at best. Unclear when they’ll put down the moonshine…lol
TVDB’s API is working fine - FileBot and Plex are getting instant matches, but the metadata is arriving by Mule Train. Very Slow.
Problem seems to have disappeared today…
OP here - So this is still an issue, tried flipping between Plex and movie database, tried removing the match, all sorts, got 3 files now that are dead in the water as far as metadata goes…
Apparently still a problem. I had to reload Plex after a flash drive failure on unraid and the PMS install being hosed (Flash drive for unraid failed at the same time I was updating PMS)
Now i’ve got 40 season of a show named “television” and 665 episodes. FML!
This still seems to be an issue for me. I added three 3 seasons of tv shows last night and none of them are pulling MetaData.
