TVDB Plex agent not downloading metadata anymore after they switched to v3

Plex stopped fetching metadata from TVDB after their switch to API v3 - getting 404s when Plex is trying to fetch. Externally trying to reach the URLS also results in a 404

Most of the links you provided do work. So not sure why a viable link would would get 404. But hey, 7 minutes has passed. Maybe it’s fixed now.

Hey, I just checked from a couple of different browsers, incognito mode, clearing cookies etc and different machines/public IPs, and I am still getting a 404 at TVDB and for the Plex metadata URLs, attached screenshots

My server itself is on a VPS and getting 404s as well. Am I being daft and missing something basic here?

Don’t do picture two. It’s from plex site and not from thetvdb

Fair enough, some of the tvdb ones work now as well but trying to match/unmatch/fix match, refresh metadata and deleting the com.plexapps.thetvdb folder and restarting PMS process isn’t pulling metadata anymore for anything. Anything more I can do to try and fix this?

Wait. The guys over at thetvdb seem to do “their job”. Bug has been reported and acknowledge on their site.

Just to see, I added Van Helsing(a series I did not have beforehand) to my library and it added correctly. It populated all metadata.

Dunno if version and settings are the same, but I manually changed to themoviedb and it worked perfectly, switched back to tvdb and it failed again. I’m going to give it sometime and wait , but I’m stumped as to how it’s working in your setup @NewPlaza :slight_smile:

Oh yeah, we got different versions. I’m got v1.13.8 on Win7.

Looks like TVDB is doing an import from their old db into what will be their new one … if you look at say Grimm as an example… https://www.thetvdb.com/series/grimm you will see the following…

Notice

This series is being imported from our old database. Since any modifications would be lost, editing this record is disabled until the import is complete.

Think we just need to give them time to get their import done. Can’t seem to find link to monitor their import process so if someone finds that it would be helpful to post here.

I don’t see the notice anymore for series in tvdb but am still getting the 404s. Switched over my entire TV library metadata to themoviedb as a workaround and everything is great but I really like tvdb and the work they put in so would ideally like to continue using them as the metadata provider. Is this an isolated issue only I am running into or is anyone else running into this as well? Just asking so that I know whether I am alone in this.
If it is indeed just me, then I am open to trying things.

So far I have:

  1. Deleted the tvdb local cache
  2. Upgraded to latest public/beta Plex versions

I suspect that TVDB has done their due diligence but Plex needs to update how they are pulling the data now from the new API but I could very well be wrong.

I’m running into the same issue started a couple of days ago. I checked my logs and I’m getting a lot of images failing to download and I spot checked a couple and I was getting a 404.

Hope the Plex devs can get it fixed soon.

Having the same issues myself in unraid linuxserver docker. Doesnt appear to be downloading art of any sort at the moment.

I looked and found they knew this was coming and work was done.
I am attempting to learn current status and if any PMS upgrades are needed .

I am in the process of moving my TV library from a RAID to a larger one; During the process, currently, 17 of 109 shows have missing posters, where, previously they existed, and now getting 404’s when attempting to fetch data via TVDB.
