Hi There,

I would have responded to the thread under the following location Music metadata from Tag or File.

The issue i am having is i was using the little plugin that was made in this thread to automatically pick up Artist Biographies and Album Reviews from a text file as per the details in the afore linked to topic and was having no issues with it at all and was working great.

I have gone to use the plugin again and is not working at all, could so kind soul advise if a plugin like that would still work or not as not looking forward to adding all album reviews manually again to my music library.

This will only work, if you set
Scanner=“Plex Music Scanner”
Agent=“last.fm”
in the properties of the library, prior to adding files to it.

Newly created music libraries are not using the old extensible agent/scanner system anymore.

Hi Otto,

Damm i have used the Plex Music Service as the scanner and the same with the agent as well i am going to guess will need to delete and rescan the whole library for this to work in that case, would that be correct.

Yeah, it boils down to that.

Keep in mind that you won’t be able to use the newer features, like “Radios” then. Do also avoid multi-disc albums.

Bugger that was a waste of a morning lol, oh well still be quicker than manually adding the information for more than 6000 albums!!

With multi disc albums i have a lot of artist albums that have more than one disc i am guessing by what you said these could cause an issue??
