Metadata/Library Prefs etc stored in LIBRARY LOCATION

Hello

Long time Plex server user. Over the years, I’ve had to reimport my large library or reinstall Plex Server many times, and each time, I have to fix soooo many things in the metadata.

This is caused mainly by Plex not writing your metadata changes directly to the file (like MetaX would) and instead writing it down in file somewhere (like a preferences file or xml or something).

My proposed feature: Let Plex Server store the Library Information INSIDE the library location. This way, should you have to reinstall, reimport, add a hard drive or any number of other reasons, those changes you made stay with the library and recreate it in your new system, Plex Server can just use the information that’s already there.

Secondary, less optimum solution: At least include a place in the server management where we can export this data or back it up or something.

It’s in the database, that is backed up on a scheduled interval with butler
