I would really like to see a configuration option that would allow the metadata to be stored in the same directory as the media is.
I have three external hard drives (1x3tb, 2x4tb) that are filled with MP4 movies (2200 files) and TV epsiodes (some 4800).
When I take the hard drives to my winter home, I lose all of the metadata as it is stored on my desktop machine. And to scan all of that data on a laptop via a cellular connection would take WAY too long.
If the metadata were saved where the media is stored, it would greatly facilitate moving the drives.
