I have a feature request that I think would help users with large libraries out a LOT, especially when we try to move to newer hardware. (Say, hardware that supports HW transcoding…)
How about an option to cache metadata locally, in the folders we store our videos? I have spent a lot of time picking the right poster, background, etc. for a bunch of movies and TV shows. Sometimes picking the right data from one of the agents, sometimes adding it locally. Copying all that over to a new system isn’t easy.
If I could just have PMS save all of that to the folders I keep my content in, I could easily move it around with me, from one server running PMS to another. Move my files, I move my metadata at the same time. Easy, right? Not have to pick out the “right” things all over again?
How hard would this be?
