This will not work with the current API, Plex's hands are tied, this cannot currently be done. If you don't believe it, grab one of MSFTs sample scripts for the API and try to upload anything over 100mb it will fail.

I think you are misinformed. Microsoft added support for files greater than 100MB in their API via "chunked" uploads using BITS. Check out: https://gist.github.com/rgregg/37ba8929768a62131e85
