I have one of the XBox branded TV Tuners that I’m no longer using and I was hoping to use it as a TV Tuner for Plex. Is that even possible? Do Windows 10 drivers exist for it?
TIA

Yes. The driver should install automatically when plugged into a Windows computer.
Not for the Microsoft XBox One branded tuner. That’s why I’m here asking. I’ve done that and it says there are no drivers available. I was hoping someone has actually managed to get it working with some kind of unofficial drivers.
I didn’t know there was a XboxOne specific tuner. Let me check if we have any info on that.
From what I’ve seen online, this is a rebranded Hauppauge tuner. Indeed, their driver download page lists a Windows 10 driver for it:
I couldn’t find anything specific, but from Googling that tuner, it appears that Microsoft hasn’t released/created the drivers for it. So looks to be a Microsoft limitation and nothing specific to Plex.
I have tried the Hauppauge XBox Tuner drivers, but the device didn’t recognise them. Back in the day, you used to be able to force a device to use a driver. I couldn’t see that option in Windows 10. Can you still do it?
That tuner will work fine with Linux or LibreElec/CoreElec but not with Windows from what i remember. I picked 2 up from Amazon when they were on sale for £5 a while back and they worked fine with tvheadend.
Yep that is my experience with one too. Never had it working under Windows. Only a libreelec/tvheadend build.
