I have PMS running on a Synology DS212j, which is (knock on wood) still humming along just fine, and I’d like not to replace it if I can avoid it.
That said, I can no longer access Plex on my iPhone or AppleTV because I haven’t upgraded PMS on the DS212j in over a year to maintain compatibility with the DiskStation (which ended some time ago in subsequent server releases) - so I’m limited to my Roku in one room, which isn’t a great situation either.
I’d like to migrate the PMS to a laptop, which I’d make sure is turned on when I want to watch a movie; is there an easy way to do this? Or do I need to completely uninstall PMS from the DS212j and rebuild it on the laptop?
Failing that, what do I need to do I terms of configuration to make sure the laptop setup works, give that the laptop will not always be turned on?
Are there options besides this that I should be considering? Thanks in advance!
