I have recently purchased a new Shield Pro. Currently my Plex Server sits on my existing Shield. I have read about moving the server files from the existing shield to a removable storage device. I have tried many different things, but I do not have the option to do this. All I can do is Stop or Run the server. Should I give up and create a new server? If so what is the best way of doing this? Or is there a trick for migrating the existing server on to the new Shield Pro?
Take a look at this post… This should walk you through the steps of moving your database/metadata to the usable storage and then be able to back it up. Later in the post I suggest using something like FreeFileSync to copy over all the data to a new location or directly to the new shield once set up.
