Hi all, I just got the Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 version with a USB3.1 stick setup to expand the internal storage of the Shield. I was hoping to ditch my old HTPC for the shield completely, which also means running my Plex Server from the Shield. I have a few questions that I’m struggling to find clear answers for:
- Can I migrate my existing Plex Database? I have done this many times from PC to PC, but never from PC to a non-PC platform, and I have found no complete guide on how to do it specifically with the Shield. All files will be served from my NAS within my local network. This is pretty important to me since I’ve customized a ton of sort orders and collections already.
- The FAQ notes that it can transcode 2-3 streams at a time. I am curious if anyone has any real world experience w/ the Pro 2019 so far here.
- If the Shield is set to sleep at various times (i.e. if TV is off, if remote turns it off, etc…) - does that also sleep the Plex server? If so, what do I need to do to ensure that it stays awake at all times (I want ant plex to always be available)?
Thanks!!
