I have a new dedicated Windows machine and plan to run Plex server on it. Today I have a Synology DS912+ NAS with all my media and also running Plex server. In order to have more horsepower and be more performant, I am migrating over to the Windows NUC.
I will largely (I think) follow the instructions here. However since it certainly not the same OS, can I simply stop the service on my NAS, perform a clean install of Plex on my Windows machine, do the appropriate configuration, scan the NAS for my media and be done?
In the instructions I do see a step to copy over contents of volume1/PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server from my Synology NAS. I assume once I do the Windows install I would copy it over to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server on my Windows machine.
Thoughts?
