Migrating watch data from managed user to a new full Plex account home user

Hello,

I have my son as a managed user in my Plex Home. He’s got a 7+ y watch history. I recently created him a separate full Plex account (so he could login independently at college).

I invited that new account into my home.
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to merge the 2 accounts.

I tried using Tautulli to export his play history but since the instance of Tautulli is new it doesn’t have the history and only tracks going forward.

Anyone have any tips, tricks, thoughts…for how to merge the accounts in my home or migrate his watch history?

Thank you,
Daniel

Only through direct database editing.

Thank you. It seems the situation you reference is slightly different than what I propose…In yours the managed users disappeared. In mine I’m wondering if I can merge a new user and an existing managed or export the managed watch history to the new user. Are you saying the answer for mine is the same and there is no other alternative?

I think Tautulli used to be able to do this but in recent versions it no longer imports a Plex history, it simply monitors plex function from when it was installed.

It’s the same - swapping one user ID for another in the database.

I have never done it, but I think Webtool-NG does this. GitHub - WebTools-NG/WebTools-NG: WebTools Next Generation for Plex

Thank you

This seems like it would have been a great option BUT

It’s not working. It can’t seem to access the uses when on the view state copy screen. I’ve installed it on a PC on the same local network as my PMS which is running on a QNAP NAS.

@dane22 was one of the people who wrote the app and maybe can help out.

Make sure WebTools-NG has it’s log level set to debug, then reproduce and upload the log

ok it’s set to debug but where does the log file end up?

Thank you. Here is the log. I think I did it correctly
WebTools-NG.log (24.6 KB)

You first have to select your server at the top.

I did. I think

Hi

Did the log file help?

So sorry, but simply haven’t had time yet to dig into this
