Hello All
I’m considering changing the OS I’m running on the computer that I have my plex server on from windows 10 to Ubuntu linux. Mostly because the board doesn’t support TPM whilst the Ryzen 7 2700x CPU is capable of running win11. I would like to get away from all the M$ licensing and cost. The the hardware still is seems pretty fast to and well I just want to get some more life out of it.
How difficult will it be to backup the M.2 drive windows is on. Then install Ubuntu on the system and get my plex server running again? my media files are all on two internal SATA drives of 2 and 4TB formatted NTFS. what files and settings would I need to be sure are backed up so they can be restored when the server is installed over on linux. I have a lifetime plexpass in place and DVR set up with an HDHomerun flex4K, all that should continue to work with Ubuntu?
Is there a help file with a list of steps, tasks and tips that would help make such a migration successful?
