Missing features - DVR

I use Plex DVR and Live TV on a daily basis and it frustrates me that we still don’t even have two of the features I used years ago with the old Microsoft Media Center DVR.

  1. The ability to have recorded programs that you simply don’t really care about or are obsolete automatically deleted (EVEN IF UNWATCHED)… like news and current affairs content which is no longer relevant. This is a never ending task for me and very inconvenient.

  2. The ability to record content based on keywords. This was brilliant when I was using WMC and it meant that I didn’t have to constantly troll through EPG data looking for upcoming broadcasts.

Dear Plex Team… please implement these two features so that the PLEX DVR functionality is complete.

There’s at least one existing feature suggestion for this. Have you voted there?

I’d like to see this feature as well. As it is, I maintain a separate NextPVR DVR for recording by keyword. It works very well, the downside being that you need to provide your own guide data.

I think we’ve discussed this in the past and believe we finally agreed that the desired functionality is to be able to automatically remove episodes regardless of their view state (not just unwatched). As it is, you can keep a certain number of unplayed/unwatched episodes, or delete played/watched episodes after a certain amount of time. What Plex currently doesn’t handle are the states in-between (partially played/watched). Those will never be deleted automatically.

I only mention this because of the distinction. Didn’t you make a feature suggestion for this, actually?

[Edit]
Sorry, I was mistaken. I think this was intended to be a feature suggestion, but was not posted in that category.
