Missing Guide in TV Mode

Server Version#: 1.18.4.2164, Windows 10
Player Version#: 2.47.0.1035-e74d341b, Windows 10

Just wondering if there’s a bug or if I’m missing something. In Live TV & DVR, I have the Channels option where I can see the EPG and select a channel to watch. In TV Mode however, all I see are the Starting Soon, New Episodes, Recommended, etc. I no longer see what’s on now. Is there still an option to watch live TV stations in TV mode? This started happening after upgrading to the latest version of Plex Media Server.

Thanks for any help.

I am having the same issue. Unable to see the current Live TV streams/shows in TV Mode.

If this wasn’t happening in PMS v1.18.3 you could consider downgrading.

Downgraded to version 1.18.3.2129 and this has fixed the problem. I can now watch live TV in TV mode as the On Right Now section is back. Will avoid updating until this bug has been fixed.

Show On Now and Sports On Now sections are now present for me in TV Mode.

Windows 10
Server: 1.18.4.2171
PMP: 2.47.0.1035-e74d341b

I’ve upgraded to Plex Media Server version 1.18.5.2260 and can confirm that the issue is still present. In Plex Web -> Live TV and DVR -> What’s On, the “Shows On Now” section is missing. This means that I’m unable to watch any live TV in TV Mode in Plex Media Player. Anyone else experiencing this behavior?

Downgrading again to 1.18.3.2129 so I can still watch Live TV.

A bit of information - I mostly see the issue with shows that should be classified as News. “Shows on Now” and “Sports on Now” collections usually show me programs that are currently being aired, but anytime there is a News program on the air, there is no collection called “News on Now” that allows me to tune in. The only way then for me to watch these programs is by using an app that has the guide view, which TV mode in PMP does not support.

I am running Plex server on a Linux box. I have been seeing the same issue and a couple of what appear to be related issues. I rolled back to 1.18.2 until the latest (1.18.5.2309) release which I just installed. Now I see “What’s On” and “Shows on now”. However, the available channels displayed in “Shows on now” is missing quite a few channels - none of which are sports or other specialty channels (my local CBS is missing for example). All are visible in 1.18.2.

Rolling back…

After upgrading to version 1.18.7.2415 the “Kids on Now” shows up for me fine but every time there is a news program on it doesn’t show anywhere. There is no way I can watch the station. Is there an option to disable the new On Now recommendations so that everything just shows up in “Shows on Now”? Seems like this would solve my problem and likely others’ problems as well. I only receive 4 stations at my location so I especially have no use for categorizing the shows that are currently on.

I’m disappointed on how Plex updates tend to break things that were previously working and it seems like very little developer testing is done prior to the release.

I am not alone on this.

I’ve been a Plex pass member since 2014 and since this guide issue started there have been many updates that have completely missed the boat on a fix for this issue.

It’s making it difficult for me to remain loyal to a potentially great product.

I’m happy to report that with the recent work done to the various hubs, including adding the What’s On Now hub, all channels always show up now. Thanks, Plex Team!
