On Right Now missing after 1.18.4.2171 update

On Right Now missing after 1.18.4.2171 update.

I put back to the previous version and it shows.

It only shows what is starting soon. Is this the best place to post for beta bugs?

Sorry for the delay.

You’re seeing the UI change.

If you go to app.plex.tv/desktop, you might even see more changes as the UI there is always ahead of what’s bundled with PMS

So how am I meant to watch what is on now?

That works only on some devices, I.e LG tv app doesn’t have the tv guide yet.

Same issue.

Yep - On Right Now - gone.
Gone in the new update: Version 1.18.4.2171
Gone in the hosted app as well.

At least they’re consistent

and I hope it’s not because - Plex has decided we don’t need ‘On Right Now’.
(The Villagers gather for the second annual Forum Meltdown and subsequent storming of Castle Plex)

I think I figured it out:

Live TV, probably won’t Direct Play in Plexweb, so
 gone.
I still see ‘On Right Now’ on my other clients.

Pure speculation and a wild-ass-guess (without any explanation or notice), but it sounds about right. It could also be an error, but an error in both the local and hosted app at the same time? No
that’s probably by design. Might as well get used to it.

Weird. In my What’s On section of Live TV & DVR, on both the hosted and local web clients, I have Shows On Now:

PMS 1.18.4.2171.

Mom always said I was special.

Indeed you are:

So
 are those shows MPEG-2?

I have a whopping 2 channels, both PBS and both MPEG-2. I don’t see On Right Now, but I can see My TV Shows (not on Home Page) and Movies - nice EPG, eh? <— can’t blame 'em, really - Doc World (PBS Secondary) isn’t exactly reliable as far as scheduling goes and NONE of it seems to ever appear in an Online Database, but still
used to have On Right Now - and now it’s On Right Not
lol

I can select the currently playing program from the guide.

Indeed:

Well
I am without a clue what’s going on.
There one day - gone the next.

BTW: My On Right Now can NOT be more than two.
Something has gone haywire somewhere.

I guess, at the risk of blowing everything up, I could Plex Dance the DVR
lol
(I’m going to try to resist that temptation with every fibre of my being)

Maybe try resetting defaults for Plex Web:
Settings -> (Plex Web) Debug -> Restore Defaults

Well, that got me one channel back. Don’t know where the other one is, but I can select it from the guide, so I know it has a program in progress
Unfortunately the missing channel is PBS #1 - The Primary. The secondary channel with all the crap and farming shows is working fine.

Need to castrate something/someone?
I got all the latest tips
lol

I think while I’m sharpening up the hook-knife I’ll reboot everything. Can’t hurt. But it did
a system reboot resulted in No Now Playing row at all. Anywhere in Pweb.

and now, 24 hours later - They’re Back!
(all two of them, present and accounted for)
(queue: The Twilight Zone Music)

:smiling_imp:

and 12 hours after that - They’re Gone!

But wait
The Eyewitness News Team has just discovered the local transmitter (the one hit by lightning 6 years ago), is in one of it’s Cool-Down/Reboot cycles that in the old days would have produced nothing but static, now produces a really cool “No Signal” on a nice black screen.

I trust they’ll be back when the transmitter comes back - and could be the reason for those ‘missing channel’ reports

On right now is missing for me for all my clients too - any suggestions anyone?
