Mixes For You Disapear from Plexamp Home Menu

Not sure if this is a Plexamp Bug or a Server side Bug. But I am only noticing this in Plexamp so I thought I would start here.

Mixes for You Disappearing from Plexamp home menu whenever I change the order of priority in the manage recommendations sections of the library on the Plex server.

Scenario:

  1. Updated my library, Sonic Analysis, all things are checked off and set for Sonic Analysis and the features of sonic analysis.
  2. Opened Plexamp and saw Mixes for you on my home menu. Started listening to a mix played about 10 songs. Stopped listening and closed app.
  3. Mixes for you was showing up on my home menu. I wanted to move it to show up underneath Recently added.
  4. Went to Plex server, manage > Libraries > Manage Recommendations = Changed the order from the default to my preferred order. Moved Mixes for you to the second position. Closed settings exited webapp
  5. Opened Plexamp on Android phone. And mixes for you disappeared completely from the menu.
  6. Went back into server settings and moved order around for priority again and back to my phone Plexamp still does not show mixes for you.
  7. Got the bright idea to click reset customization at the bottom and wouldn’t you know it!!! My mixes for you came back on my Plexamp app.

Not sure if this is a bug or not. But I have noticed for me on my Android phone Pixel4a5g if I change the order of priority for Library recommended I lose the Mixes for you completely from my Plexamp home menu, until I hit reset customization and then it comes back. I change the order again and sometimes its stays and sometimes I lose mixes for you again.

The Mixes for You are refreshed every X hours or so, and part of the clustering operation is random. So if you’re on the border between having a lot of music/listens and not, you might see this happening as it tries different clusterings and isn’t satisfied with the result.

Yup. After a little over a month of listening this issue is resolved. Mixes are showing up and I have noticed that they have changed. Thank you for the explanation.
