Mixes for you - should there be more than one mix?

I have only one mix available to me, rather than more than one that the plural mixes suggests. Also on this topic, my mix changes most days but is always the same bunch of artists.
Love Plex Amp btw, use it more than Roon.

Edit: Nevermind, I worked out that I failed at interface… feeling old!

However, my first three mixes are essential the same bunch of artists:

With mixes-4-you it’s coming down to the size of your library (on top of the level of similarity and what you’ve been listening). The mixes will change over time – but if you’ve only got a handful of similar items, you’ll get those a lot. That being said… listening to them, you’ll notice that those “essentially the same” m4us can still have a different ring.

These mixes are based on which artists you have been listening to in recent weeks.
So start listening to some other artists. If these have sufficiently enough sonically similar music in your library, you will start seeing mixes based on them.

Thanks both. I have 30,000 tracks, plenty of genre variety so I don’t think it’s due to limited available selection.
Recent listening history is significantly more varied than these three mixes, luckily the remainder of the mixes are more varied.

I am not seeing any mixes for you. Sonic analysis is on. My server ran hard for like 2 days.

I feel dumb asking. But where do the mixes for you live so I can find them? I have not seen them anywhere in my app.

Plexamp for Android.

They should be showing on the Plexamp home screen.
The Mixes for You and On this Day hubs are usually right at the bottom above the History section.

Do you see any Sonically similar ... hubs/sections in Plexamp or Plex Web for artists / albums?

No I am not seeing it.

Plexamp Version: 3.4.7
Plex Server: Version 1.24.1.4931

In my home screen I have
Recent Plays
Recently added
Recent Playlists
Stations
Most Played in [month]
Haven’t Played In
History

Then it stops right after history

Can you try updating your version of Plexamp?
Current release should be 3.7.0 – not sure if 3.4.7 will already support all those features.

Ok. Yeah I didn’t think of that.

Just updated. Still no luck. Plex Web is also showing the same list. As my previous post. Is there any setting I have to tick?

When sonic was added I upgraded all my libraries and ticked off the box for sonic analysis. Is there another place I have to tick a box to make it display or something? Maybe?

I’m pretty sure its probably something really silly I’m missing.

See Requirements and Getting Started With Sonic Analysis in the related support article to verify (a) if your system supports the sonic features (currently only available on certain architectures and OS) and (b) if you properly enabled it.

Also, Sonic Analysis is very slow, even on beefy systems. In your case you mentioned having it on for a couple of days which, depending on the size of your local music library, may not be enough. My library has 30k tracks and the analysis took 3 weeks of midnight to 9 am time on an i5 2013 iMac.
Mixes for you won’t show until the analysis is complete.

Oh ok, ding ding, that might be it. I have a large library also. 15K tracks. Ill give it some more time and see. what happens. Im running on an older mac also. Sierra. intel i5 also.

I also checked in the Library settings. All of the check boxes are checked so it should be displaying things when its ready.

Not sure if this has changed recently but checking on progress of the analysis should be done through the hosted web portal at https://app.plex.tv rather than your local instance. If you use this you should see analysis occurring in the Activity contextual flyout. If you don’t see it, make sure you also check that you are inside your scheduled task window:
Settings > Server > Library > Analyze audio tracks for sonic features

Thanks. I also noticed something that made a difference. When I upgraded my libraries and turned on audio analysis. I first selected “scheduled task only”. My scheduled tasks are from 1am to 5am. So I didn’t see the analysis happening. I changed that setting to “when added and as a scheduled task” yesterday. The server has been crunching away every since. Its gonna be a long time before it stops.
