Mixing "Theater Extras" with movies

(If this already exists, please forgive me, I haven’t found it.)
I recently ran across some collections of things like the little ‘advertising’ and intermission films that Drive-Ins used to show and also a number of WWII era newsreel clips. It got me thinking about creating a period library that might be able to randomly select a newsreel or two, then a pre-show ad clip (“Let’s all go to the lobby…”) before the movie. Maybe even between the movies, too, if it is possible to set up double or triple features.
It would be most wonderful if it were possibly to have clickable items (like a movie is clickable now) that would play one of these sequences. If this is something that a playlist could do, please let me know. I’ve never had much luck with them on any other platform and haven’t tried them in Plex … yet.
There probably aren’t many folks interested in anything like this, but on the off chance that someone else has figured it out, I thought I’d ask.

Some ppl already requested a ‘trailer folder’ feature where Plex woudl randomly select one or several clips to automatically show before a feature film.

However, this is not a thing currently. So if you plan a movie night, create a dumb playlist manually.

Thanks, I figured that would be the case. I was hoping for something that could randomly select from different sets of “objects”, like trailers, newsreels, lobby ads, intermission, shorts, etc. Oh well. Maybe someday we’ll get some sort of scripting tool that would allow stuff like that, and instead of clicking a movie itself, we’ll click a scripted object or maybe even drag a movie and drop it on such an object. I can dream, right?
