And besides it being against the rules it is an absolutely horrible idea. It is too much like commercials and I as well as all the Plex users I know that use Plex and spent time and money acquiring a good local library do not want to see commercials of any kind. Having that as a feature would make it too easy to step over the line and make Plex look like Hulu.
OR create a playlist and put your own ads in between content
I think people got the wrong idea. If plex came out with a separate commercial product for businesses was a suggestion. I have a few friends that want to loop videos they created in their offices. No “hulu” like commercials other than their own logo videos in between animated videos they created. Something automated. Instead of having them play through a video player, maybe have something that works as wonderful as plex. Are there any commercial products that already do this that I can point them to if plex isnt interested?
Products which do that, often fall under the category of ‘digital signage’.
