I have some TV show rips from DVD via MakeMKV that I’ve had for years in MKV format but all of a sudden when I play them on my Roku TV’s they have horizontal interlaced lines running through them. They are playing direct with no transcoding.
However if I go into the playback settings of each episode and tick the allow MPEG2 box it fixes the issue.
1). I don’t understand what’s changed as I’ve never had to do this before.
2). You have to go into each episode and tick this manually, which is just painful.
4). Same files play fine on Jellyfin on same devices.
3). I don’t want to re-encode them as MP4.
