MKVToolNix default options

Server Version# Any
Player Version#: Any

I’ve been using MKVToolNix GUI for many years. Actually, I remux all my MKVs before moving them to the Plex libraries. Remove extra subs or unwanted audio tracks, add curated subs, etc.

I’ve always used these additional command line options but was wondering if everything looks OK or if there are other parameters from which Plex could benefit:

--compression 0:none --compression 1:none --clusters-in-meta-seek --engage no_cue_duration --engage no_cue_relative_position

All my media play fine with these parameters.

Many thanks!

None of these are necessary or beneficiary to Plex. You can simply use default options.

I do recommend you to make the following change to MKVtoolnixGUI’s default behaviour:

Many thanks, @OttoKerner.

That’s great. Didn’t know you could do that. I usually remove them by unchecking them. Much easier this way. Have also added Attachments - which I also remove manually.

Careful: anime with ASS subtitles can bring their own fonts as attachments.
You will lose the custom look of those carefully designed “fan subs”.

Thanks, Otto

No anime and no ASS subs here. Just normal movies / TV shows and SRT
