Mobile device als second screen

Hey guys,

I thought is would be a cool thing to use your mobile device as a second screen.

A cool way to do so, would be in Microsoft style.

When you play a video on one device, you can get all the information about the movie/tv show/whatever you’re watching on a second screen.

This is pretty cool!

So, what if you could connect to the same server with your mobile device, and get an extra option: second screen.

When you use this option, you get all the clients using the server.

Once selected one, you get all the information (metadata plex has collected) on your mobile device (for example my iPad).

On the server you can even set the users from MyPlex who can use it, and who can’t, or what they can use, and what they can’t.

So, this is the idea pretty short explained, but I’m sure you guys understand what’s the point of all this.

What do you guys think?

That is actually not a bad idea, though Im not sure if the team has the resources right now to work this out.

Sort of a “Now Playing on…” section on the iOS client, along with the remote. I like!

Maybe even build in the menu functions like Subtitle/audio offset, brightness controls, link to previous episode recaps, or future episode trailers, character biographies via IMDB (I know I’m running away with this now), etc…

Plex Smart Glass! lol
