Is it possible to have a ios remote for plexconnect so we could view all of our stored pms media prior to viewing? Similar to how to the plex remote operates so we can play content from pms to plex clients. Would be nice to use a ios device as a media controller just like when you have plex client installed on a mac/windows/linux box to browse thru the movies on a ios device and play them on the plex client natively. Xbmc also has a simlar remote feature to view content on ios prior to launching content as im sure a lot of you have used as well. Its been awhile but I believe plex client on the atv had this feature as well if im not mistaken. Only thing is that these other apps were full fledged .deb’s running on top of the appletv.app where plexconnect is using a different scheme using js/xml which may not allow it to run as I am wishing. Would be great to see plex remote discovering plexconnect running on the atv then playing videos natively 
Unfortunately not; we had this feature on our initial roadmap but had to remove it as We could find no way to implement the functionality.
Why would yoy want such thing? If you want to view your library from the ios, then PlexConnect not needed-just choose your file and Airplay it ..
Anyway, for the remote use, the apple remote for iOS works, i am pretty sure :)

When using airplay the session becomes dependent on the iOS device sending the media to the Apple TV. There are plenty of instances where this is not ideal. As far as why at all - changing environments while moving around (begin watching in the kitchen on the iPad, but move to the living room), - (personal preference more comfortable/fast browsing of sections on iPad.

Why not to use remote app from Apple?
A remote control is never going to work and there is already a fully functioning one from Apple.
Flinging media to PlexConnect may be possible but PlexConnect is not a traditional client and nothing is running on the ATV itself eg what happens if the user is not even in the trailers app?
